A walk in nature around the stylish Minami-Aoyama area!

In the Minami-Aoyama area of Tokyo, you will find lively and fashionable shopping streets. But hidden behind all the buzz are a lot of quiet locations where you can feel nature while being in the city. Today, we’ll go on a walk around places where you can relax in the shade of a tree or in the sun on the lawn – and buy plants for your home!

Let’s go!

BUBBLES Juice Stand

How about a smoothie made with seasonal fruits or healthy cold-pressed juice? If you fancy a delicious summer drink, head to BUBBLES, located near Aoyama-itchome Station. After leaving the station head south from the crossing and you’ll the juice stand on the left.

Colorful seasonal fruits piled up in front of the shop.

The cold-pressed juice, made with fresh vegetables and fruits and no heat, is not only really tasty but also very healthy. Nutrients get absorbed four times more than when eating vegetables and fruits – and they are more easily digested.

100% watermelon juice is the perfect drink for hot days!

If you go further down the street, you will pass by Minato Ward Aoba Park. The shade of the tall trees is the perfect place to escape Japan’s strong summer sun.

The park is on the left.

In the summertime, the park is a life-saver thanks to the cool tree shades. In spring, the park has beautiful cherry blossoms.

Walk on and eventually, you will see the Aoyama Cemetery on the right side. And on the left, you’ll see the entrance of a trendy facility called SHARE GREEN MINAMI AOYAMA.

The big building in the background is Roppongi Hills.

Look out for this sign!

Share some green!

The large grounds of SHARE GREEN MINAMI AOYAMA include a cafe, a plant shop, an (at least for Tokyo) vast lawn area, and an outdoor seating area. The facility has a relaxing vibe. With a lot of space everywhere, you don’t ever get to close to other people. Good for keeping distance and also great for relaxing!

The large warehouse on the grounds is a cafe where coffee beans are roasted. The smell is fantastic!

Everywhere: cute photo spots!

When being in such a lush environment, you might want to bring some greenery back into your home and decorate your room. The two flower shops on the premises have a large selection of indoor and outdoor greens including beautiful flowers (and vases), dried flowers, succulents, and flowerpots.

In Japan, the hydrangea is a typical flower for June.

For everyone who wants to relax and take a “nature bath” (as the Japanese say) away from the hustle and bustle of the city, following the walking course in this article is highly recommended!

I was born and raised in Kiel/Germany. When I was 16 I came to Japan for the first time. I fell in love with this beautiful country, so I returned after my university graduation. Since then, I have been living in Tokyo - and I don't plan to change anything about that ;-) My hobbies are taking a stroll around the city, taking photos and drinking coffee.
