Aoyama Art Walk (Part 2): ‘Nicolai Bergmann NOMU’

The Aoyama area in Tokyo is known for its fashion, art, and cafes. Just stroll around Omotesando Station and you will discover interesting architectures or find amazing shops and stylish cafes. This time we will introduce Nicolai Bergmann, another recommendation amongst the many art shops and cafes in Aoyama!

After just a short walk from the B3 Exit of Omotesando Station you’ll arrive at Nikolai Bergman’s flower shop and cafe. With a lot of greenery outside the store, you will see many people taking Instagram pictures in front of the fashionable building. But hat is just the beginning. Go inside and you’ll find out the full magic that awaits!

The inside of the store is beautifully decorated

The flower arrangements designed by Danish flower artist Nikolai Bergman can be characterized by sophisticated Scandinavian coolness and innovative pop colors. His most famous work is the “Flower Box”, an arrangement of flowers in a box.

Since fresh flowers are hard to take back home as a souvenir, choose the dry flower version which holds up for two years.

A cafe surrounded by flowers

Half of the building consists of the shop area and the other half is a cafe.

The cafe is called “NOMU” which means “to drink”

Here you can enjoy snacks, cakes, coffee and smoothies with a focus on organic ingredients. The food and drinks are delicious.

The cafe’s specialty are smoothies.

More than just the great taste – the decorations of the cafe area are very exciting and almost overwhelming! Right now, it is Autumn in Tokyo. So when I visited the cafe, one wall was covered with (real) colorful autumn leaves. What a beautiful sight!

I had a great time at this exceptional cafe. Also, you can take lots of wonderful photos – a big plus!

Scandi vibes!

So, why don’t you take a break from walking around the Aoyama area surrounded by beautiful flowers?

I was born and raised in Kiel/Germany. When I was 16 I came to Japan for the first time. I fell in love with this beautiful country, so I returned after my university graduation. Since then, I have been living in Tokyo - and I don't plan to change anything about that ;-) My hobbies are taking a stroll around the city, taking photos and drinking coffee.
