Gorgeous winter lights and ice skating rink in the Roppongi area 2020

Winter lights decorating the city, called ‘illuminations’ in Japan, is a winter tradition that warms your heart and brightens this cold and dark season. This time, we will introduce two beautiful illumination locations and a fun ice skating rink in the Roppongi area!

Around Tokyo Midtown, one of our favorites is the Midtown Garden area. This year, the name of the winter lights is ‘Promenade of Lights’. The name is perfect since you walk through a tunnel of golden lightsーvery romantic!

Winter Lights: November 19, 2020 (Thursday) – February 28, 2021 (Sunday)

To use the ice skating rink, make a reservation at the entrance first, since admission is restricted to prevent crowds. You can check the number of people waiting in front of you in real-time by using your LINE account. So just use the waiting time to shop or admire the winter lights.

26 people are waiting! Time to get a hot drink!

At night, lights around the skating rink set the mood to create a truly magical experience! All skating rink users receive a cafe-ticket which you can exchange for drinks and meals at certain shops inside Tokyo Midtown.

Use the coupon to get a drink or a snack for free!

* A face mask must be worn inside the skating rink.
* Gloves and socks can be rented for a fee, but we recommend that you just bring them with you (to save a little money).

Roppongi Keyakizaka-dori Street, the street located behind Roppongi Hills, is definitely the place for perfect illumination photos. A row of trees of about 400m is lit up with sparkling winter lights. This year’s theme is ‘SNOW & BLUE’. Behind the glittering blue and white lights, you can see the orange Tokyo Tower shining like a candle! This might be the most Tokyo-ish winter lights spot in the whole city!

Time: 17:00-23:00 To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the time Roppongi Keyakizaka Illuminations will be turned on has changed to 16:00 – 20:00 until further notice.
