Did you know that you can walk across the Rainbow Bridge, one of Tokyo’s most iconic landmarks in Tokyo Bay? The pedestrian walkway of the bridge is about 50 meters above sea level and is fantastic for a walk. You can look over the whole bay area. The length of the pedestrian walkwayーcalled Rainbow Promenadeーis about 1.7 km long. There are two entrances: the Shibaura Entrance on the side of central Tokyo, and the Odaiba Entrance on the man-made island Odaiba. The walkway is free and If you walk without stopping, you can cross the Rainbow Bridge in about 30 to 40 minutes. However, you can expect it to take longer it because you will want to stop several times to enjoy the view!
In the beginning of your walk, you need to choose which side of the bridge you want to walk on. There are two walkways, the North Route and the South Route. When crossing the bridge for the first time, the North Route is a good choice as it offers panoramic views of the skyscrapers and central Tokyo. Along the way, there are several observatories where you can take pictures.
Feel the sea breeze, have a close look at the fascinating structure of the bridge, and enjoy the spectacular panorama!

Closed on the third Monday of every month, or the next day if it falls on a national holiday.
